By 1960, Sten Gustaf Thulin – a Swedish engineer developed and introduced a plastic shopping bag created by folding, welding and cutting a flat plastic tube providing high load capacity.

Of the plastic materials for making these bags, the most common ones are PE and PP, rather than the original plastic material. However, the name plastic bag has become familiar to most users. Up to now, most Vietnamese users are still accustomed to using the word plastic bags to refer to disposable plastic bags, even though they are no longer made from plastic for a long time.
Wallace Hume Carothers is the inventor of the plastic material but failed to see the success of this invention because he committed suicide in 1937, before it was put into production.

Plastic bags are known for their durability. They are less vulnerable to tearing and are resistant to many chemicals. Plastic bags outperform paper or cloth bags when it comes to protect the contents from rain or water.
Plastic components are being used increasingly often in new vehicles, mainly because they help make our vehicles safer. However, because plastic is also much lighter than traditional materials like metal and glass, it also helps cars get more miles per gallon of travel because the internal components don’t have to work as hard to move the vehicle’s weight forward.
